There are 10,000 billion tons of methane frozen in the Arctic and Siberian tundra. Human-caused global-temperature-rise is causing the polar ice cap to melt. This extremely destructive gas is being released into the atmosphere. Because global warming is increasing, each year we are releasing a larger potion of that 10,000 billion tons of methane. We have turned on nature's doomsday machine. Unless we turn this cycle off, NOW, in less than ten years, it will become unstoppable. If this self-expanding cycle is allowed to continue, the Earth's temperature will rise by about eighteen degrees well before the end of this century. The environment will be drastically altered. All large life forms on the entire planet will die, including you, your family, and every other human being. The possibility of human extinction is no longer a fantasy of the foolish (and the paranoid). It is and very likely will be the inevitable consequence of human ignorance and apathy.
